Apple is letting developers integrate Siri AI’s new features into all apps, The Verge reported.[3]

Developers can build app skills that bundle several tasks into a single action, rather than requiring a separate action for each task.[5] Apple says Siri AI can carry out requests using personal context, instructions in everyday language and awareness of what’s on screen.[4]

You won’t always need to name the app: Apple says users can leave that out when the app is in the foreground, during a Live Activity or while discussing that app with Siri AI.[6]

Apple is also extending Siri AI’s capabilities in its own apps, including Mail, Maps, Messages and Shortcuts.[7] To find out what’s available in a particular app, Apple says users can ask Siri AI which actions it can perform there.[8]

WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU

When you try it, ask Siri AI what it can do in your app before handing over a task.

HOW WE CHECKED IT

Every fact above is a numbered claim below. Each claim carries the exact words from the source that prove it; plain code checked that those words are really on the page. Then DeepSeek (deepseek/deepseek-v4.1-flash-1017) and Gemini (google/gemini-4-argon) voted on every claim without seeing each other's votes or the reporter's evidence, and a copy desk checked that every line says no more than its claims. No lab checks its own news. Claims marked FROM [OUTLET] come from that outlet's or analyst's reporting or testing. The Council checked that the source says it.
